Session: AlphaPlus investing in our PMO people -The value certified people bring to the PMO
AlphaPlus is a project-driven education service consultancy that, despite its small size, invests money, resources, and time in the development of our PMO people, understanding that certified PMO is the enabler to drive successful project delivery to our clients.
This is a discussion about our journey of setting up, managing, and developing our project management community from 6 project managers in 2021 to 16 project managers in 2024, of which 7 qualified (5 APM PMQ, 1 PMI PMP, 1 Prince2, and 1 APM Accredited MSc in Project Management).
The value our certified people bring to the PMO has enabled growth at personal and company levels by (1) providing a consistent project management approach to the teams and Directors working on projects, (2) delivering projects on cost, on time, and to the required scope and quality, (3) providing the Board with up-to-date KPI dashboard on project status to drive key decisions and prioritisation, and (4) ensuring consistency of the project management approach and tools applied to a diversified business across different segments and regions.
Our success stories include a finalist for the Graduate of the Year Award in the 2023 APM’s Festival for Education and Research and an award winner of the Star Apprentice Award in 2024 featured in APM’s Apprenticeship Week Feb’24.
Our commitment to the project profession was recognised by APM, by appointing AlphaPlus as a new member of their 2024 Corporate Advisory Group.
