In a highly successful event on 7 September 2023, the APM Scotland Branch convened an impactful conference on "Net Zero Nation and Sustainability" at the historic Playfair Library in Edinburgh. This gathering united professionals, academics, and students who share a common interest in project management, sustainability, and the journey towards a net-zero future.

The event featured a comprehensive agenda with interactive sessions focusing on key themes such as the circular economy and the rapid advancements in AI. These discussions fostered productive debates and dialogues concerning the challenges arising from evolving technologies, data analytics, and sustainability issues.

Key highlights of the conference included:

  • Competence in Energy Transition: Liam Macintyre delivered an insightful presentation that drew parallels between renovating a historic home into a low-energy PassiveHouse and the challenges associated with transitioning to clean energy. His perspective shed light on the essential skills required to address the pressing issue of achieving Net Zero.

Additionally, the Scotland Branch took the opportunity to congratulate Rachel Neilson on her well-deserved recognition as the 'Emerging Professional of the Year-2023'.
