New PMO SIG team for 2017-2018

I am very pleased to welcome the latest PMO Specific Interest Group team for 2017-2018!

Following our first ever online vote, the team is refreshed and ready for an exciting year of PMO going hands on.

Our new team consists of the following people and roles:

Emma-Ruth Arnaz-Pemberton (Chair) has been involved with PMO SIG for a number of years and has a keen interest in how collaboration and people make a difference to PMO. As Chair, Emma has spent time to organise the SIG to reach its long term goals, speaks at international PMO events and contributed to publications and articles including the recent Raconteur Project Management report. Emma is the PMO Manager for Project Managers Without Borders and works closely with the IPMA international PMO SIGs.

Marisa Silva (Secretary) has been involved with PMO SIG for a number of years and has an alter ego ‘The Lucky PM’. Marisa is a management consultant for Wellingtone Project Management and specialises in the PMO, its development, maturity and sustainability. With a background in academia, Marisa is the Programmes Director for Project Managers Without Borders and has recently published ‘Bed Time Stories for Project Managers’ and is a regular speaker at international PMO events.

Simon George is an existing PMO SIG Committee Member who works within the PMO space at Transport for London.  Simon specialises in IT Governance, Programme & Project Management, Quality Management, Quality Assurance and Risk Management, Software Development methods and is currently leading a team of experienced professionals within Technology & Data working in all areas to ensure we are doing the Right Things in the Right Way.

Mark Reeson is an International Strategic Project Management Advisor for M R project Solutions Ltd. A project manager of over thirty years who is currently developing PMOs in the Middle East with a focus around sustainability management. Mark is previously from an Armed Forces background who has worked within Defence, Nuclear, Government and Hospitality whilst also assisting with the IOC in the Youth Olympic Games.

Dr Andrew Schuster is a practitioner and researcher of good management practices, with a particular interest in public projects (major projects) and the development of organisational capabilities over time. As well as PMO, he actively supports the work of the following APM Special Interest Groups:, Enabling Change (Public Sector), Assurance, Governance, Portfolio Management and Benefits Management.

Andrew is a key player in the APM, and has been involved in research and guidance such as The successful delivery of change within the public sector: getting it right, Directing Change and Co-directing Change. As part of his involvement in the Cabinet Office good practice, Andrew has co-authored Management of Risk: Guidance for Practictioners, mentored the authors of Management of Successful Programmes and reviewed P3M3, Benefits Management, Portfolio Management and P3O guidance.

Osian Evans is a Management Consultatnt with Pcubed. He is a A P3M consultant with a passion for giving something back to the field – fosteri collaboration, developing thought leadership and inspiring the next generation of project professionals. Over the past ten years, Osian has managed and worked in rail and infrastructure programmes and PMOs, whilst for the last 2.5 years has taken the time to specialise in PMO setup and delivery.

Andrew Honey joins us from Anient Ltd. A solid Board Director who started life as a qualified engineer then developed it with a business education, an MBA and 40 years of successful delivery across industry, commerce and government. Andrew is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, embedding portfolio, programme, project management and change capability in an environment of uncertainty and is uniquely experienced in the application of solutions to the growing challenges of climate change, security of energy supply and skills transformation for a low carbon economy.

Teresa O’Reilly is the Director of P3 Management Consultants Ltd mainly working in the public sector with a specialist interest in control and governance. Teresa has historically worked within the PMO arena for organisations such as HS2, KPMG, and British Gas.

This year sees the PMO SIG focusing on the theme highlighted by our latest State of Project Management UK; key disciplines that continue to be difficult to embed into organisations. The PMO Goes Hands On Conference on October 19^th will address these disciplines head on with representatives from all over the industry.
