Association for Project Management (APM) has appointed new Leads and Deputy Leads to spearhead its Regional Network teams and deliver a range of localised activities to the profession.

The Leads have been recruited through a new selection process introduced as part of APM’s broader volunteer strategy that is being rolled out in 2024 and has seen the transition from Branches to Regional Networks.

In addition to new Leads and Deputy Leads taking position across Regional Networks, APM’s Interest Networks (previously named Specific Interest Groups) have transitioned to the new volunteering structure, which offers flexibility and greater opportunities for collaboration.

For followers and volunteers of APM Interest Networks, this is made possible thanks to a new online space where Network Teams, Volunteers and Members can come together and discuss the latest developments in their specific areas of interest.

The selection process and supporting recruitment campaign formed a key factor in responding to calls for APM to build greater accessibility and awareness of its volunteering activities.

To date, the recruitment campaign has seen over 500 new applications spanning a range of volunteering opportunities. Select roles remain open for applicants.

Commenting on the new Network Teams, APM’s Head of Events and Volunteer Engagement, Manuela Impellizzeri Kemp, said: “We’re proud to have such a broad and diverse range of volunteers leading our outreach and specific interest activities. They are a vital link between APM and our thriving project communities and we’re grateful for their commitment to supporting the profession. We hope you can join your local event this year and say hello to your new teams.”
